Client Story: Shirley Seguin Fine Art

new website for SSFA

The Client

Shirley has an established presence in the Atlanta fine art community, with a focus in the East Cobb area. A talented impressionist with a backlog of new artwork that needed to be displayed, she asked me to design and build her a new website.

The Challenge

Shirley’s site must appeal to the high-end art market, and serve high-quality image files quickly. Not only does she want to increase her art sales, her work is being shown and sold in several metropolitan area galleries.

The Solution

I designed the new website to look lean and modern and still be able to showcase traditional artwork. Bigger images and fonts make for easy viewing. She has three separate galleries for her three distinct categories of work.

A lot of my attention went into the design and copy writing for her About page; I believe that page will be key in allowing her website visitors to feel a sense of rapport, and want to buy from her.

Instead of adding shopping cart functionality to the site, Shirley opted for a simple contact form. This way, potential collectors get in touch via phone or email, paving the way for conversation and conversion.

To support that goal, I built robust Terms of Purchase and Commissions pages to give potential collectors a good idea of what to expect from the buying experience.
